1. Who we are and what this covers
UridePlus operates from Austin, Texas, United States. This policy describes the UridePlus rider app and this legal website. References to driver location explain information used to provide rider tracking. This policy does not cover driver employment, contractor, or onboarding records.
For privacy questions, email support@urideplus.com.
2. Information used by the service
- Account and profile: name, phone number, email address, date of birth, account identifiers, and other profile information, such as gender or photos, where provided.
- Trip and location: pickup and destination addresses or coordinates, searches, selected places, device location when permitted, driver positions used for trip tracking, ride status, boarding records, timestamps, and trip history.
- Payments: payment-provider references, saved payment-method summaries, wallet balances and transactions, charges, applicable fees, tips, and payment outcomes. Payment-card entry is handled through Stripe's payment tools.
- Messages and feedback: information you provide to support, ratings, and trip feedback. Call and text actions open your phone's communication apps; those services also handle information under their own terms.
- Device and diagnostics: app and device information, notification and Live Activity tokens, connection and delivery information, error reports, and operational logs used to maintain the service.
- On-device information: sign-in/session data, recent addresses, app preferences, and pending trip feedback may be stored on your device to support app features.
3. Why information is used
Information supports sign-in and account management; finding pickup and destination locations; arranging and tracking rides; coordinating boarding and contact with a driver; processing payments; sending trip updates; responding to questions; maintaining reliability and security; investigating disputed transactions; and meeting applicable legal obligations.
For mapping and routing features, search text, coordinates, and route inputs may be sent to Google Maps Platform. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Use of those features is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.
5. Location and device permissions
The rider app requests foreground location permission for features such as showing your position and choosing a pickup. The driver app has separate online and background-location features that support dispatch and trip tracking. These are not a request for the rider app to track you continuously in the background.
You can change location, notification, camera, and photo permissions in your device settings. Camera or photo access is used for features such as QR boarding and selecting a profile photo. Disabling permission can prevent a related feature from working.
Trip notifications and Live Activities can display trip information on a lock screen. Your device's notification settings control how it appears. Emailing support or using call/text actions shares information through your chosen communication provider.
6. Retention and security
Account, trip, payment, and operational information may need different retention periods. Retention depends on providing the service, resolving support or payment issues, security needs, and applicable legal obligations. Deleting an app or signing out does not automatically delete server-side records.
The implementation uses controls such as authenticated API access, role checks, and device secure storage for certain local information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Do not send sign-in codes, full card details, or sensitive documents to support unless an appropriate secure process has been provided.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can update supported profile details in the app and manage device permissions in your phone's settings. To request access, a copy, correction, or deletion of your information, contact support@urideplus.com and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing records.
Depending on the law that applies to you and the business, you may have additional rights, including rights to opt out of certain processing and to appeal a denied request. If a request is denied, you can ask for review using the same support address with “Privacy appeal” in the subject. Applicable legal requirements determine the response and any permitted exceptions.
Texas residents can find information and complaint options through the Texas Attorney General's privacy resources.
